Department of Social Protection
- This building was designed by architect Elizabeth Morgan for the Office of Public Works and completed in 1992. It is now officially called the Limerick Intreo Centre.
- This site was one of fourteen venues used for the 34th edition of EVA in 2010, curated by Elizabeth Hatz (b. 1953, Sweden) and titled matters.
- Javier Burón (b. 1977, Spain) and Eleanor Moloney (b. 1974, Ireland) created a site-specific work titled Empathic Space (2010). The artists staged a number of live musical performances at ‘peak hours’ for the users of the social welfare office. The artists described their intention to provide ‘a time lapse of enjoyment and relaxation for those people waiting in queues’.
