Department of Social Protection
- This building was designed by architect Elizabeth Morgan for the Office of Public Works and completed in 1992. It is now officially called the Limerick Intreo Centre.
- In 2010, the site was one of 14 venues for the 34th edition of EVA, curated by Elizabeth Hatz (b. 1953, Sweden).
- Javier Burón (b. 1977, Spain) and Eleanor Moloney (b. 1974, Ireland) created a site-specific work titled Empathic Space (2010). The artists staged a number of live musical performances at ‘peak hours’ for the users of the social welfare office.
- The artists described their intention to provide ‘a time lapse of enjoyment and relaxation for those people waiting in queues’.
