Colbert Railway Station
Formerly known as Limerick Railway Station
- The railway station was designed by architect Joshua Hargrave and opened in 1858.
- Originally called the Limerick Railway Station, it was renamed Colbert Station in 1966 in honour of Cornelius Colbert, an executed leader of the 1916 Easter Rising.
- This site was one of 18 listed venues for the 27th edition of EVA in 2003, curated by Virginia Pérez-Ratton (b. 1950, Costa Rica) and On the border of each other.
- John Paul Dowling (b. 1979, Ireland), Clare Gilmour (b. 1971, Ireland), Babatunde Longe (b. 1971, Nigeria), Ernest Bishop (b. 1959, Sierra Leone), Simeon Babo Tresor (b. 1976, Cameroon) and Annette Young (Sierra Leone) presented an installation of suitcases titled Where are you coming from (2003). The installation sought to bring attention to the migration of refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland looking for a brighter future.
