Spacecraft Studios
- Established by graduate art students in 2017, Spacecraft Studios is a not-for-profit artist-led studio and project space in the Limerick city centre.
- It is located just beside the Milk Market in Mungret Court, a commercial space which also hosts three recording studios, Wanderland Recording Studios, LauchpadLK and Drylane Studios.
- This site was used for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the 39th edition of EVA International in 2020 and 2021.
- For its 39th edition, EVA adopted a three-phased approach as a response to Covid-19 restrictions.
- Em’kal Eyongakpa (b. 1981, Cameroon) presented Mámbáy bebhɛp 43r /mɛnyu nɛfaŋ/ bakay nɛkɔ (2021), an immersive sculptural and polyrhythmic audio installation featuring contributions from singers and storytellers in Ireland and the Gulf of Guinea. The work drew from the artist’s interests in the relationship between oral culture and the natural environment – how sounds, speech, and spaces are transposed onto one another through time.
