Limerick Youth Service
Formerly known as Glentworth Motors
- This late 19th-century building’s original function is unknown but it is thought that it may have been a market building.
- Between 1975 and 1985, it was used as a garage, called Glentworth Garage.
- It now houses the Limerick Youth Service, which was founded in 1973 and is the country’s largest voluntary youth organisation.
- This site was one of 12 listed venues for the 28th edition of EVA in 2004, curated by Zdenka Badovinac (b.1958, Slovenia) and titled Imagine Limerick.
- Here Mark Cullen (b. 1960, Ireland) and Brian Duggan (b. 1971, Ireland) presented their work Short Shorts (2003).
- Short Shorts was a screening of a series of original short films produced over a nine-month period through weekly workshops with youth participants in Tallaght, Dublin.
