Mill House
- Opening in 1993, this building was designed by Murray O’Laoire Architects and is currently used as offices for Grant Thornton, a global accountancy firm.
- Murray O’Laoire Architects were one of Ireland’s most prolific architectural studios during the 1990s and 2000s, designing buildings such as Terminal One at Dublin Airport and CIT Cork School of Music. The studio was formed in 1979 by architects Sean O’Laoire and Hugh Murray, who was chair of EVA for more than 30 years.
- This site was one of 12 listed venues for the 20th edition of EVA in 1996, curated by Guy Tortosa (b. 1961, France).
- A large-scale wall vinyl by Lawrence Weiner (b. 1942, USA; d. 2021), titled Stretched as Tightly as Possible, was installed on the exterior rear of this building, where it can still be seen to this day.
- Weiner was one of the central figures in the formation of conceptual art in the 1960s and his work often takes the form of large-scale wall texts.
