This former townhouse was built in the 19th century and has had many uses – it has been an estate agents, a nursery and a gallery known as Chris Doswell’s Gallery.
Chris Doswell’s was used as a venue in multiple editions of EVA.
This site was one of twenty-six listed venues for the 22nd edition of EVA in 1998, curated by Paul M. O‘Reilly (b. 1934, USA/Ireland) and titled Circus ZZ. It featured the work of Ciarán Lennon (b. 1947, Ireland), who exhibited a diptych of paintings titled Horizontal Hold (1998).
