Thomond Primary School
- Thomond Primary School was established in Ballynanty in 2015 as an amalgamation of St. Munchin’s GNS, St. Munchin’s CBS and St. Lelia’s Infant School.
- The original St Munchin’s school was designed by Limerick born architect Andrew (Andy) Devane in 1957. Andy was greatly influenced by American Modernism, specifically the work of Frank Lloyd. The building is now listed as a protected structure.
- This site was one of seventeen venues used for the 40th EVA International Biennial in 2023, curated by Sebastian Chichocki and titled The Gleaners Society.
- In 2023, a permanent micro-forest and biodiversity haven was planted on the grounds of Thomond Primary School. The design of Snaky River Forest was developed by the school’s gardening club, in collaboration with the artist Deirdre O’Mahony and Hometree, a charity dedicated to establishing and conserving permanent native Irish woodland.
