The original Corpus Christi Church in Moyross, built in 1978, was destroyed in a fire on 22 June 1998 due to an electrical fault. A new church was built in its place to the designs of architect John McMahon.
According to a plaque in the porch of the building, Bishop Donal Murray opened the church in April 2000.
This site was one of 23 venues for the 31st edition of EVA in 2007, curated by Klaus Ottmann (b. 1964, Germany).
Corpus Christi was one of numerous sites for a project by Miriam Lohan (b. 1975, Ireland) titled Ringing Limerick. On 7 May 2007, between the times of 11:15am and 11:45am, the artist organised 13 churches around Limerick city to ring their bells simultaneously.
This performance was recorded and available to listen to after the event.
